Who wrote this, and why
I am publishing this so that current and prospective customers of Yacht-Match can read what happened in my case before they commit to anything. It is an account of a single transaction — mine — written under my own name, with the documents I hold set out alongside it.

Me
My name is Michał Tekiela and I am 50 years old. I had wanted a boat of my own since I was a child. I went to Yacht-Match because I was not an experienced sailor at the time, and I hoped they would guide me through buying one. The old saying turned out to be right: if you want something done properly, do it yourself.

Method
How this account is put together
Every claim on the front page is marked with its basis. Three labels are used, and they mean exactly what they say.
- Documented A document supports the statement. Where it can be published without exposing people who are not part of this dispute, the exhibit is shown; where it cannot, the document is named and dated instead.
- My estimate A figure I have worked out myself. No third party has verified it.
- Not documented Something I say happened, for which I have not published a document.
Exhibits carry a note saying what they do not show as well as what they do. Where personal details of people who are not party to this dispute appear in a document, they are masked before publication.

Everything on this site, the facts and the opinions alike, is published in good faith. If I am shown that something here is wrong, I will correct it.
Yacht-Match were sent a link to this site and invited to comment, and to correct anything they consider inaccurate. Whatever they send will be published in full on the right of reply page, where the letter that went to them, and the date it went, are on the record.

This is not guesswork about which company is meant. The contract I signed on 5 July 2023 names the same registration number, 84911832, on its first page.
The Yacht-Match name covers more than one company: the charter management agreement described in this account is with Yacht-Match Adria d.o.o, registered in Croatia under OIB 03176082786.
